Express box
a. What are you trying to accomplish?
I am trying to invent an express box that can be recycled many times.
b. How can you re-design this product to make it more sustainable? Use the material choices graph.
I will use recycled wastepaper to re-make pulp to make the main body of the express box. Since the scotch tape is toxic and non-degradable, people will destroy the carton when unpacking the express. I will replace the tape with a structure like a zipper, so that the box can be used many times.
c. What are the sustainable design principles you have used?
I have used exclude toxic & persistent materials and adaptions for circularity.
d. What are the economic and environmental benefits of your new design?
e. In terms of economy, the cost of express delivery is greatly saved, and the waste of express boxes is reduced. As far as the environment is concerned, paper is saved and the pollution of the tape to the environment is reduced.
f. Which circular business model can you adopt instead of linear?
I can adopt waste to wealth and long life.
g. If you look at the butterfly diagram, to which cycle does your product belong?
My product belongs to the technical cycle. Reuse and Refurbish.
