1. Describe the product you have chosen.
Product – Adidas x Parley running shoe. These shoes are made with recycled plastic waste intercepted from beaches and coastal communities in United Nations headquarter in New York.
2. Why do you consider it circular?
Parley collected plastic that had been dumped in the ocean and repurposed or ‘reused’ this plastic by weaving it into the shoes' knitted upper. The plastic that was collected mainly consisted of fishing lines, and fishnet traps that were either floating around in the ocean or had washed up on shores around the world.

Plastic waste is being extracted to make these shoes which have huge environmental benefits. The economic benefit is by creating belonging to an exclusive club, Adidas can reinforce external recognition of its products with visible branding using the Parley logo, and storytelling about ocean plastics to a wide audience.
